Another Intelligence

Every Intelligence Lives Inside a Horizon

Every intelligence lives inside a horizon.

The interesting question is not what it knows. The interesting question is what it cannot experience.

Every intelligence illuminates one part of reality while leaving another in shadow. This is not a flaw. It is the price of seeing anything at all.

The same may be true for another intelligence. The interesting question is not whether it possesses intelligence identical to ours. It does not. The interesting question is what its horizon reveals that ours does not—and what forever remains beyond its reach.

Wisdom is not the absence of a horizon. It is remembering that one exists.
